James Beard Dinner

Hutchins was honored to serve their award-winning barbecue at the James Beard House in New York City on June 8. Guests were more than satisfied; they enjoyed five variations of Hutchins’ slow-smoked barbecue including brisket, turkey, chicken thighs, and St. Louis-style spareribs with signature sides, and each paired with a Treaty Oak Distillery based cocktail, Hiatus Cellar wine, or Franconia beer. Tickets were $170 for the five-course meal with proceeds benefiting the James Beard Foundation.

Big Apple BBQ Block Party

The Big Apple BBQ Block Party is an annual free barbecue festival, lasting a full weekend, and attended by over 100,000 guests in Madison Square Park. This June Hutchins made their first appearance as a vendor, and had the opportunity to serve their famous brisket accompanied by burnt-end pinto beans. As the days progressed the Hutchins line grew longer and longer – everyone wanted to try the most buzzed about brisket at the festival!

Aspen Food & Wine Classic

Hutchins made their debut appearance on June 16-19 at the Aspen Food & Wine classic this year. While in Aspen, the Hutchins boys also held a “Texas Outlaw” party where guests of the festival could enjoy a drink and some great food after a long week.
