Skeeter Miller “Passed the Torch” to New GARA President Hoover Alexander


AUSTIN, TX (August 15, 2016):  Every four years the anticipation and excitement of the Olympics builds. After four successful years as GARA President and Owner of County Line Restaurants, Skeeter Miller “Passed the Torch” to longtime friend Hoover Alexander of Hoover’s Cooking


The Greater Austin Restaurant Association (GARA) celebrated its outgoing and incoming officers with a special evening that took place at Truluck’s Downtown on Monday. Hoover spoke and shared his sentiments regarding the last four years and expressed his gratitude for Skeeter paving the way and that he plans to continue the momentum.


Newly inducted officers included Deborah Donovan of The Frisco as GARA’s Vice President and Jennifer Price of JK Bookkeeping as its Treasurer. Additional GARA Board Members include: Duane Moelle of Mission Restaurant Supply, Robert Petty of Ben E. Keith, Gerald Stone of El Mercado, Lisa Edwards of Mission Restaurant Supply, Oliver Fuller of Ecolab, Kevin Schoener of Hill Country Dairies, Annie Pryor of Intravisuals, and Joy Peoples of Carr, Riggs, & Ingram, LLC.


Guests enjoyed an array of appetizers and desserts from Truluck’s and an open bar thanks to sponsorships from EcoLab, Mission Restaurant Supply and Charter Spectrum. Amanda Tatom of Studio 512 on KXAN was the MC.
